A preview of KIT Nova created with Journee, an immersive digital campus developed in collaboration with the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), TRUMPF, and the Ministerium für Wirtschaft, Arbeit und Tourismus Baden-Württemberg.
Debuting at the “Virtuelle Welten – Chancen im Metaverse erleben” conference on May 8 in Stuttgart, KIT Nova reimagines education through a fully interactive 3D environment enhanced by AI-driven learning tools.
At its core lies a dynamic digital twin of the upcoming KIT Nova research building, designed to seamlessly bridge talent, technology, and industry across both physical and virtual spaces.
The experience is designed as an online learning platform, allowing users and students to explore a variety of distinct worlds and environments—each featuring its own standalone learning objectives.
Across multiple levels, different aspects of KIT Nova are revealed, introducing new educational themes, reflective learning methods, and social spaces that encourage collaboration and discovery within the virtual campus.
A key highlight of the experience is the Reflection Path, for which I led both the creative direction and full digital development. Drawing inspiration from ethereal references and developed through multiple iterations, the level guides users along a contemplative journey through misty forest roads and otherworldly environments, blending emotion, atmosphere, and learning into a single cohesive experience.
